How-To Save Money in Your Home: Air Dry Wet Clothes
Depending on how many people live in a house will determine how often the washer and dryer are used. The current generation washing machines and smart washing machines out on the market do a pretty good job at washing and cleaning clothes. Dryers and smart dryers are the same. However, why not simply use the natural method of evaporation to dry clothes instead of using your electric dryer to dry your wet clothes which is a waste of electricity and can result in a higher electric bill on your monthly utility statement.
It costs you nothing but the time required to hang up and air-dry your clothing. We typically hang our clothes outside to dry on a clothes line I ran from the house to a tree and a fence post; however, during inclement weather, we also have dedicated a room purely for drying our clothes. There are literally rows upon rows of shirts, socks, pants, and everything else inside of our drying room hanging on a clothing line to air-dry naturally and free. Depending on the type of climate and elevation, will determine how quickly your wet clothing dries. Nothing beats a lower electric bill every month on utility statements, plus going green is good for the environment and our self-egos.
