1. Have a dedicated work space. You will need an area set aside that is only used for working on your blog. So that area can be an in home office or if you have employees working for you then an out of home office. Both an in home office and an out of home office has their pros and cons. With an in home office you won’t have to waste time and money commuting to work; however, if you are unfortunate to live with a typical narcissistic woman then good luck trying to focus…on anything. With an out of home office you will need to waste time and money by commuting to work and you will have to lease out office space; however, with an out of home office you are now finally able to get away from that crazy woman of yours.
  2. Buy a giant whiteboard. Having a giant whiteboard in your office is an excellent method of note taking, setting reminders, and compiling to do lists. Buying a giant white board is one of the best investments you can make as a professional male blogger. A giant whiteboard can help you brainstorm future blog posts, schedule meetings with clients and employees, and help you plan out the days ahead.
  3. Have plenty of office supplies on hand. It is always a good idea to have plenty of office supplies on hand in case you’ll need them. Some office supplies that you may want to consider buying include pens, paper, notebooks, folders, sticky notes, highlighters, dry erase markers and an eraser, tape, a graphing calculator, batteries for all of your electronic devices, scissors, a ruler or tape measure, glue, paper clips, etc…
  4. Buy a high end computer. When it comes to computer choices you usually have two main options. Either a desktop computer or a laptop. A desktop computer is usually cheaper, more powerful, and last longer than laptops; however, it could be a nightmare trying to relocate your desktop to somewhere else in the house or to another office with all of it’s cables and peripherals, etc… Laptops on the other hand are usually more expensive; however, they are far superior in terms of portability.
  5. Buy a printer with plenty of paper. You may want to consider buying a toner printer with some extra toner cartridges rather than an inkjet printer that uses costly ink cartridges. With an inkjet printer you do get beautiful colors on your printed paper; however, for me ink cartridges are a waste of money if all I want to do is print in black and white. Wasting money buying overpriced ink cartridges is like giving money to a church pastor. Two things I would never even think about doing.
  6. Use a trusted cms software. The most popular cms (content management software) is WordPress. One of the reasons why I like WordPress is because WordPress has an excellent support structure in place at their official support forums for whenever an issue arises. WordPress isn’t the only cms software out there. And Though there are some other options that do exist, for me personally I stick with what I know works. And that is WordPress.
  7. Install a professional WordPress theme. When searching for a theme to roll with, there are numerous options to choose from. Some basic themes include features that rival costly premium themes. For me premium themes are the way to go. If you do decide to go with a premium theme, many basic themes in the WordPress theme depository have premium versions available for purchase by the theme developer.
  8. Install plugins to jump start your blog’s functionality. Plugins provide various security, user experience, project management, and page builder features. High quality plugins provide a greater user experience for both the back end users and front end users. Similar to basic WordPress themes, many basic plugins in the WordPress plugin depository have premium version available for purchase by the plugin developer that include additional features.
  9. Utilize a dedicate work schedule for writing blog posts. Remember as professional male bloggers our work involves writing. And writing a lot. Even if it’s only for two hours per day. Make sure it is those same two hours every single day where all you do is write blog posts. For example, 3:00pm – 5:00pm. Implementing a dedicate work schedule that utilizes the same start and end time every day can help keep you in that repetitive workflow mindset.
  10. Write at least one blog post every day. You can still work on longer blog posts that you intend to publish every week or so, but since you are a professional male blogger you really should be publishing at least one blog post every day. Even if that means publishing a blog post that’s as simple as two to three paragraphs long or roughly 300 to 500 words. Something is better than nothing.

Good luck men.

Cheers!
