How-To Save Money in Your Home: Don’t Use Chemicals to Clean With
Say good-bye to cleaning with chemicals forever. Very rarely do I use chemicals to clean with. Not only do chemicals leave an awful smell, they can be very expensive and extremely harmful to yourself and the environment as well. That is why I use alternative means to clean with, such as baking soda and vinegar.
I use baking soda more when I need to do some deep scrubbing on a variety of uneven surfaces. It works just as well and even better than many chemically produced cleaners. I use vinegar more as a disinfectant on my counter tops, tables, and in and around the bathroom. Another great use of vinegar I found is adding it as a fabric softener during my laundry’s rinse cycle.
Not only does vinegar soften my clothes, it also removes soap residue remaining on my clothes. Amazingly your clothes do not retain the vinegar scent! I also use a steamer to steam clean the tile floor in my house. My steamer accepts both distilled water, and distilled vinegar. I use plain tap water more for spot cleaning and the vinegar when I need to clean entire rooms. The costs associated with using baking soda and vinegar is just a fraction of what I used to spend on popular name brand cleaning agents, which now results in a lower bill whenever I go to the store to purchase products. Instead of having to purchase expensive and toxic cleaning products, all I have to do is purchase baking soda and vinegar. I sometimes even purchase bulk orders of baking soda and vinegar so don’t have to go to the store as often to buy baking soda and vinegar nor do I need to stay at the store any longer than I have to, since I already have plenty of baking soda and vinegar in stock and ready to use at and inside of my home.
