Earlier back in January of 2013 the announcement that Age of Empires Online had received its last of its new content and began to enter its “support phase” was felt deeply by the Age of Empires community.
It has been confirmed that Age of Empires Online now has an end date as well. On July 1st of 2014 Age of Empires Online will come to an end. Its service will stop and its servers taken offline.
Some facts regarding the announcement;
Age of Empires Online will end on July 1st of 2014.
The service will stop.
Servers will be taken offline.
Until the end date, the game will function normally as it does now.
No new players can join the game.
Current players will still receive full support until sunset on the end date.
All in game purchases have been disabled.
September 17th of 2013, 1000 EP will be given to all existing players.
