The all new SteamOS (Steam Operating System) will soon be available as a free operating system for many users. The new operating system will be built around Steam itself. Built with Linux and receiving an increase in graphics and audio performance, the new SteamOS will include in-home streaming, family sharing, family options, as well as music, tv, and movies to round out the list of features.
The newly announced Steam Machines will be running SteamOS, providing the user with the ability to game and entertain straight from their living room sofa.
