1. The WordPress Export tool (located in your WordPress Dashboard).
    1. Log into your WordPress Dashboard.
    2. Select Tools -> Export
    3. You will be presented with several options including All content, Posts, Pages, Ads, Cloud Templates, Media.
    4. I always recommend to select All content, which will backup all of your site’s posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, tags, terms, navigation menus, custom posts, etc…
    5. Select All content
    6. Select Download Export File
    7. Once the export file is downloaded and saved to your computer, you will then be able to import the XML file via the Import tool in your Dashboard. If you do need to import the XML file, you can do so with your current WordPress installation or a brand new one in the event you had to start over.
