How to Save Money while Shopping: Use Couponing Basics

Couponing is a great way to save quite a bit of money. Before I started couponing; I thought I was saving myself some pretty decent money while only purchasing items that were on sale at the time I purchased them. After speaking to many individuals who do couponing for a living and how much they save at the grocery store, I began to start my own couponing routine by starting with the couponing basics.

I purchased a binder and filled its sleeves with coupons that I organized by product, usage, and room location in the house that it would be used and stored in. Not only do I save more money on my purchases, but now I spend less time at the checkout after grocery shopping since the coupons are pre-organized in a binder. I also spend less time actually shopping and looking around trying to find the items on sale, since I have already made a list of every item in the store and its location in the store, that I am going to purchase it from.

So you could say that couponing is both a money saver and a time saver, but I would first classify the art of couponing as a money saver, that is, after purchasing the recommended tools necessary for coupon shopping smartly such as a good binder with multiple sleeved compartments along with a pen, marker, and stapler with staples. By studying the basics of couponing you will be able to easily save your hard earned money to purchase something you really want.
