How Long should a Blog Article Length Be and How Many Words should a Blog Article Have?

Typically whenever I write a decent sized content article for my blog, I typically try to keep the minimum word count to at least 400-500 words. Usually anything less than 400 words, and an article could appear to be quickly type up just to increase the article count for a blog. Where as an article of 500 or more words can be usually interpretative as a blog article whose creator had done the proper research and took the time to site down and actually think about the niche subject they are writing about. The niche subject of the article also plays a huge role into the potential high quality length of the blog article.

Niche subjects that are not to generalized such as “Computer Hardware” versus using a more intuitive long tail keyword niche such as “Ergonomically Designed Computer Keyboards” can sometimes offer a more robust subject niche to blog about. Another important factor that comes into play in determining the length of a quality blog post is whether or not the blog content author wishes for their blog post to be SEO “Search Engine Optimization” friendly or not so SEO friendly. An SEO friendly blog article will usually have long tail keywords factored both into the subject title of the blog article along with the main content of the blog article itself. Popular keywords that are currently trending around the same time as a quality blog article is posted can sometimes determine on whether or not that blog article will have related information criteria that enable search engines such as Google, Yahoo, or Baidu to search and index the website while crawling the blog article content.

The last thing I will mention and definitely not the last factor at all, is how much the blog article author knows about the particular niche subject that the blog article content describes. How can a blog article content author properly write and post a blog article about a niche subject if the blog author knows next to nothing about the content that is even in the blog article? It would make much more sense and possibly even help the blog article author compose the content of the blog article if the blog author would spend a little time properly researching the niche related content along with choosing the proper long tail keywords that will factor into search engines and organic traffic to properly search and browse the blog article content and the entire blog as a whole. What I try to keep in mind before I write and post a blog article is to make sure I have chosen a niche subject that I am familiar with, spending time researching the niche subject further, and choosing the correct trending long tail keywords and even short tail keywords that are currently being used by organic traffic to find content of a website. Using Google AdWords Keyword Planner Tool can help you search for popular keywords that are currently trending and related to your blog article niche subject.
