Many businesses across the globe and around the world presently have adopted the modern usage of mobile phones, also known as “cell phones.” Then what about having direct line phones in the office? Shouldn’t businesses adopt a business model that revolves around personal communication via all means of platforms? The simple answer is…there is no simple answer. Many businesses that have recently sprung into existence have no idea what the usage of landline phones were for. These newly created “start ups” appear to be going with the modern flow of technology. Presently, technological communication networked via social interaction with online customers. Customers who are always on the go and very rarely near any type of phone that uses a direct line (Landline Phones).
Walking through a busy city, one can notice the lack of pay phone kiosks on city blocks. It was back in the day when you could walk through a busy city down town and no matter which way you turned or looked, there was always at least one pay phone kiosk in sight even in your peripheral vision. These pay phone kiosk have simply been to expensive to maintain through contracted out through third party phone services, and have began to utilize modernological usage of VoIP (Voice over IP).
Due to the slow decline of interest in the usage of phones that operate through a landline (direct) connection via a wired phone connection through a wall usually, the demand for mobile connectivity has sky rocketed to a new level. A level where your basic 1990’s wireless flip phone can only dream of. Many business owners have instead adopted the modern day approval for the usage of mobile devices. When walking in through the doors of a business, you can still occasionally find a receptionist that has a landline phone unit on a desk, though odds are everyone in that building carry and use their mobile cell phones more than that landline phone unit.
When routing calls from a landline phone unit, there is now technology that will enable the routing of the caller to a mobile phone, such as one of the business owners or another business staff member. Discontinuing the usage of a landline phone altogether might be a bad idea though, due to the standard business approach of utilizing all forms of customer service communication platforms, including direct line phones and mobile cell phone devices. Having a direct line phone on every floor and in every office might be a poor utilization of financial resources. Simply having one landline phone near the receptional location could suffice given all the staff members and business owners carry mobile cell phone devices with them and the mobile cell phone devices have the ability to accept call number transfers from a direct landline phone unit.
Adopting a business model which utilizes as many forms of customer service communication platforms as possible could be a good start into evolving into the modern technological age that we presently reside in. This age of future technology seemingly becoming reality daily appears to be the standard approach into human evolutional analytical knowledge. Sending emails from computer to computer appears to be a thing of the past due to the rising popularity of routing emails from mobile device to mobile device. Email programs on classic computers appear to be adopting the rising popularity of being able to send messages to multiple devicable hardware, such as to other computers, mobile devices (including tablet computers “PC’s” and mobile phones).
Adopting the usage of mobile phones while discontinuing the usage of direct landline phones should be practiced only when necessary and under the general supervision of business owners and senior staff faculty. While landline phone units have been the staple for customer interaction, evolving into the modern technological approach of maintaining a steady usage of modern digital trends could help boost bushiness in the modern century.
