How to Save Time in Your Home: Use a Self-Cleaning Oven
I remember the first home I bought did not have a self-cleaning oven. So whenever it needed cleaning, which wasn’t often, I’d say maybe once every few months, or so depending on if food had spilled over. It would literally take me over an hour scrubbing the inside with all sorts of chemicals and odors I would breathe in, and these metallic sponges that would just cut right into my hands.
When I got my first self-cleaning oven, all I would have to do was simply lock the oven handle and set the oven to the self-clean mode and simply walk away. The time I would have spent cleaning freed me up to do something more enjoyable or productive. You could even line the inside bottom of the oven with aluminum foil which could lessen the cleaning necessity even further by catching food that spills over. After my oven cleaned itself, I simply wiped away in residual residue with a paper towel.
